50 Years of Flight

Fifty Years of Flight chronicles the origins of California ski jumping, beginning in 1896 through the heyday of the 1930s. The book also highlights the importance of the California Ski Association (now the Far West Ski Association) and the California State Chamber of Commerce as they worked to convince the public that California was more than just sun and sand and that it was also a winter paradise waiting to be discovered. Illustrated with more than 100 photographs, Fifty Years of Flight documents the excitement of California ski jumping meets and the jumpers who flew from the historic jumps. 2017, hardcover, 176 pages.
